Want to know how to improve your service or product?
Innovation is easier than you think…
Ask your customers the RIGHT questions.
See, if you just ask them “what they want”
↳ You will NEVER innovate, ever.
You might make tiny improvements to what you already have and sometimes that’s ok.
But it will never lead to a real breakthrough.
As a product person, I learned early what a trap it is to build exactly what you’re asked for.
Because if you build what they ask for you build “Faster horses, not cars”
So what do you do instead?
→ Get on a call and ask your customers
→ What are they struggling with?
→ What are their problems?
Then ask WHY those are problems.
You’ll begin to see patterns after 10-30 conversations.
↳ Take that back to your team and create solutions.
Now you’re working on unsolved problems for those customers.
You’ll be surprised at how much more insight you’ll have compared to competitors.
They almost all skip over this stuff.
Last week I personally spoke to 10 of our customers.
And they gave me 5 different areas of concern for their businesses.
The next 20 conversations will help us rank the problems.
And helps us know what to build next.
So how do you learn from your clients?
